Sona Martinez, Social Coordinator

After many years working hard as a dedicated mother raising her four children Sona decided to finally fulfill her lifelong dream of becoming a cosmetologist.  Soon after receiving her master license in cosmetology Sona expanded her knowledge in the skin care industry. She attended numerous advance training courses in medical aesthetics. She has successfully received 12 certificates in courses of advanced aesthetic lasers, IPL treatments, microcurrent, microdermabrasion, chemical peels, and advanced makeup courses.

Currently Sona is working as a medical esthetician at a local med spa three days per week and working as a freelance makeup artist three days per week. Sona provides makeup applications for Fashion Photography and Weddings in Atlanta and throughout the northeast Georgia area.

As Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Social Coordinator, Sona Martinez, along with our Personal Assistant, KayLeanna do all of the prep work for the quarterly social events (printing the members name badges, printing and folding the programs, add name labels to the 20 early bird goodie bags, gift bagging each of the door prizes, picking up the snack bars and waters, etc...); Sona also organizes the set up and break down at each of the quarterly social events; and she and KayLeanna conduct the door prize drawings at the socials.


Dye Moore, PR/Marketing Coordinator

Dye Moore is creator and owner of Prima Donna Beauty and Makeup LLC. An Atlanta Based artist and a natural at transforming the everyday non makeup wearer into angelic artwork, Dye combines more than 10 years of beauty, public relations and management experience as a makeup artist in the Atlanta area. Dye's love for makeup started when she was just a little girl, often helping her mom with Mary Kay events. After working independently as a Makeup Artist for some years, in 2007 Dye decided to go to school full time for skin care, she received her esthetics license in Georgia at the International School of Skin and Nail Care. Dye specializes in highlighting, contouring and bridal makeup. As a member of Makeup Artists of Atlanta, Dye works with wedding, editorial print, photo shoots and special occasion makeup. Dye holds a Bachelors of Arts degree from Clark Atlanta University in Communications; Public Relations and is a active member of PRSA (Public Relations Society of America). Dye is currently a Social Media Specialist and Publicist for Onxxy Communications Group.

As Makeup Artists of Atlanta's PR/Marketing Coordinator, Dye Moore contributes by writing press releases about our upcoming Guest Speakers and Featured Artists as well as about our awesome A-List members and our referral network group in general. Dye is getting the word to production companies, photographers, and ad agencies that they will want to come to us to book their artists.


Charlene Perry, Teams Coordinator

Charlene Perry grew up in Miami FL where she entered the world of modeling, beauty pageants TV and film at age 13. During her short acting career she appeared in the movie A Hole in the Head with Frank Sinatra, several Surf Side 66 TV productions with Troy Donahue, several Timex, Ford and Chevrolet commercials and was selected to be a Rue hair color press model. After winning state title of Miss Civiatan Queen she became a PanAm Flight Attendant flying 3 years to South America and the Caribbean and one year to Europe. PanAm selected her as one of 4 flight attendants to fly VIP’s and Heads of State. She served the Pope, the Shah of Iran, the Kings and many, many entertainment stars.
While based in N.Y. City when she was not flying she studied the art of makeup while in-apprenticeship with the Makeup Center, under the mentorship of the LaTour brothers. The Makeup Center catered to the theater and stage crowd as well as fashion photographers.  Charlene also took advantage of her contacts with hair companies and also continued modeling for Clairol and the Rue Company in NY. Upon leaving PanAm to marry and start a family she became a traveling visiting makeup artist for Estee Lauder, Lancôme, Charles Revson and introduced the Charlie fragrance and makeup line for the Revlon Company. Since then she has focused her direction to videos, film and photography. She has learned the art of FX makeup and has worked on numerous film productions in Atlanta and the southern states.  Charlene has also had an extensive career as an owner of an advertising agency called the MediaPoole. One of her accounts, Sunshine Media, contracted her to publish a magazine for the culinary, Restaurant Business of Atlanta. During that project she learned the art of food styling, sat on the culinary advisory board for the Atlanta Art Institute of Culinary Art and was asked to judge culinary competitions for the Beef Board and the AAI students. She was horned to become an honorary member of the distinguished chef’s organization La Toque Blanche and served as an assistant for the Atlanta Culinary Olympic team. Candace Collier, Guest Coordinator

Candace Collier’s introduction to media makeup began over 20 years ago when she would artfully apply her own makeup while working as a commercial print model featured in publications such as Seventeen magazine.  After earning a Master’s Degree from Tulane University, Candace worked for CNN & the Turner Networks in Atlanta and ABC-Disney in New York City.  Her experiences in the television industry and her passion for makeup artistry prompted her to formalize her training and start her own business as a Media Makeup Artist. Candace’s training includes certifications in Advanced Makeup in the areas of Fashion, Photography, Film, Hi-Definition Television and Video Production.

As Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Guest Coordinator, Candace Collier is in charge of booking our Guest Speakers for our Quarterly Makeup Artists Social. Candace is looking for people who have a product, service, or educational tool that is beneficial to our experienced, professional team of makeup artists.


Eva Jane Bunkley, Artist Coordinator

Eva Jane Bunkley has been a professional freelance makeup artist, based in the Atlanta area since 1993 and has worked in television for many years.  Eva Jane earned her first two Emmy Awards for her work with 11Alive!/WXIA and Fox 5/WAGA.  She also did makeup for the Emmy nominated, Judge Hatchett Show.  She has a wide list of celebrity faces that her hands have had the privilege to touch, including President Jimmy Carter, Usher, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson, Tichina Arnold, Jennifer Holliday, Vanessa Bell Calloway, Charles S. Dutton, Cicely Tyson, Creflo, Taffi Dollar and many others.

As Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Artist Coordinator, Eva Jane Bunkley is in charge of booking our Featured Artist for our Quarterly Makeup Artists Social. Eva Jane is looking for Artists that excel in our industry both in how they manage their business down to their expertise in makeup application.



Kimberly Crocker, Events Coordinator

In 1997 Kimberly made the move to Atlanta from Virginia with her focus on fashion design and modeling. Her focus soon shifted by spring 1998 when she realized she had a gift for make-up artistry. Her love for the beauty industry has been a very influential part of her life for as long as she can remember. Over the past 12 years, her reputation slowly grew through networking and word of mouth and through working with some of the top makeup artists throughout the country. With her remarkable work ethic and unbelievable attention to detail she will always bring the professionalism you expect on your projects. Whether in her studio or on location, Kimberly is always working on films, TV shows, commercials, fashion shoots, weddings etc. She is a licensed Cosmetologist and also takes appointments for hair services! Kimberly and her husband Brandon (who is a photographer) own Crocker Photo Studio in Roswell, GA. What a combo!

As Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Events Coordinator, Kimberly Crocker searches out local and national events that our professional makeup artists would be interested in attending as well as coordinating members who wish to travel together to the national events.


Thomas Swartz, Sponsor Coordinator

With more than seven years experience as a Makeup Artist and currently serving as a Makeup Artist and Business Manager at CHANEL, Bloomingdales, Lenox, Thomas has a following that loves the way he can bring out the best but without making his client feel overly made-up. Thomas has also served on the teams for Bobbi Brown, Aveda, and others. Prior to his seven years in the beauty industry, Thomas served as the Visual Manager at a major department store where he demonstrated his artistic talents and eye for color and design.

Stephanie Scott, Sponsor Coordinator

Steph Scott has always held a passion for pretty. Whether constructing decorative and elaborate costumes or choreographies as a performance artist or creating fashion-forward looks for editorial photo shoots, one thing is for sure . . . her knack for color, consistency and creativity is inherent.

With over 20+ years under her belt as a professionally-trained performer, in such cities as Chicago, Baltimore and Atlanta, it is her love for the stage that has helped to train Steph's eye for aesthetics. In 2009, Steph hung up her stage shoes for a blending brush . . . and hasn't looked back since.

Now, the performer-turned-makeup artist is creating quite a name for herself, solidifying her place amongst the growing make-up artist community within the southeast United States. Steph works primarily within the metro Atlanta area but is available for a variety of bookings, both locally, regionally, and nationally. Lisa Kennedy, MUA Jobs Coordinator

Lisa began her career in 2003 as a Beauty Advisor behind the counter of Estee Lauder.  Lisa always realized the importance of skincare while working in cosmetics, which led her to enrollment in the Esthetic Program at Central Georgia Technical College.  She received her Esthetician License in 2004 and accepted employment with a local Salon & Spa.  After relocating back to her home of Gwinnett County she focused on freelance work with multiple luxury cosmetic lines as well as working in Medical Esthetics and Laser Centers.  Her retail background and several years of working in the treatment room with Doctors, Nurses and upscale salons/spas has brought Lisa where she is today, working in Outside Sales and Training Professionals.  She is currently an Outside Sales Consultant for GloProfessional, a mineral makeup and skincare line sold exclusively to Upscale Salons, Spas, Medical Offices, Dermatologists, and Plastic Surgeons & Professional Makeup Artists.

Brittany Allen, Advisory Committee

Brittany Allen is an Atlanta based makeup artist, experienced in airbrush and traditional makeup  for television, commercial, print, bridal and all types of video productions. She  began working in cosmetics in high school and there found a love for make-up and the artistry. Later, she studied esthetics at The Aveda Fredrics Institute in Cincinnati, Ohio. Brittany is a licensed nail tech and esthetician in the states of Ohio, Georgia, and Florida. Brittany continued her education and went on to graduate from Joe Blasco Make-up Centers in Orlando, FL where she studied advanced prosthetics and makeup for all medias. Brittany’s work has been published locally in "Business to Business Magazine", "Jezebel Magazine", and nationally in "Upscale Magazine". Her work can also be seen on Lifetime's "Get Married" and has done makeup at Fashion Week in NYC at Bryant Park. Brittany has also done projects for stock photography tycoon, Corbis Inc. She considers herself in a constant state of growth and will continue to seek new trends and techniques. She has always been creative at heart and enjoys working with her hands. She cannot imagine herself in any other career and she is loving every minute.

Dina Bouldin, Advisory Committee

Born in Cincinnati, Ohio, now residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Dina Bouldin grew up with a love for makeup and hair. However, it was not until 2004 when she decided to pursue her passion by entering beauty school. A year later, Dina graduated top of her class and began her career as a hair stylist. While working in salons, Dina focused mostly on hair but provided makeup services from time to time. However, in 2007, Dina began to transition into makeup artistry when she was offered a makeup artist position at The Purple Door, a popular Salon in Atlanta. While working at The Purple Door, Dina discovered that her true passion was in the fashion and entertainment industry. Therefore, Dina became an assistant makeup artist with a local agency and began working side by side with some of Atlanta's celebrity makeup artists. In 2009, Dina left the salons for good and became a full-time freelance makeup artist. Since then, Dina has had the pleasure of working with some of Atlanta's talented actors, actresses, models and music artists. Her work has been published in books, magazines, seen in music videos, and on the fashion runways. Dina believes that continued education is the key for growth and success in any business therefore she continues to take classes, seminars and workshops related to her industry including becoming Certified Xtreme Lashes Eyelash Extension Stylist & Certified Airbrush Artist. Dina has always had a passion for makeup, and now she is turning her passion into a career. Dina states "I truly love what I do and all the experiences that come with it."

Deidra Hamilton, Advisory Committee

Deidra Hamilton, a licensed Esthetician and Makeup Artist, has professionally served in the beauty industry for over 12 years. Deidra’s 10 year retail journey began at Parisian Eastdale Mall in Montgomery, AL as Counter Manager for Fashion Fair Cosmetics and later afforded the opportunity to transfer with Parisian to work for CHANEL Cosmetics at Phipps Plaza in Buckhead, GA.  Her gift and her credentials to enhance natural beauty landed her as Makeup Artist for the “Diamonds and Pearls” pro-sports-wives gala at super bowl 2009 (Tampa, FL) and 2010 (Miami, FL).  Deidra enjoys working the canvas of diverse cultures which has rewarded her a large multi-cultural clientele during her career.  She believes that faith, confidence, whole beauty, along with a great business reputation can be the foundation for success.  Deidra currently lives in Buckhead, the heart of Atlanta, and is a freelance artist with CHANEL Cosmetics, a member of Makeup Artists of Atlanta and a volunteer for the Beauty Becomes You Foundation.

Nikki Henderson, Advisory Committee

Nikki is a highly skilled naturally talented artist that chooses faces for her canvas to express her creative talent in makeup.  She feels makeup and art is expressive and has no boundaries.  For more than ten years, she’s offered exceptional services with a remarkable ability to listen keenly and ask the right questions while capturing a client’s vision in order to express their specific needs.  She feels this is what separates good makeup artists from exceptional makeup artists.  She’s had a passion for makeup for as long as she can remember.  Her artistry extends to hairstyles in which she is also talented.  She offers an array of great hairstyles that will compliment any makeup application when needed and if necessary.  Nikki is very familiar with all ethnic skin types and uses skillfully guided techniques to deliver a high level of satisfaction to each and every client.  She is known for her warm familiar personality which translates to her clients and offers a sense of comfort and confidence.  There is no specialty when it comes to her makeup.  She offers whatever look it is you desire.  Her work has been seen in commercials, music videos, company ads, stage plays, short films, fashion shows and runways.

Traci Daly, Education Committee Chair

Traci Daly is a Licensed Esthetician & Licensed Esthetics Instructor for the State of Georgia; currently serving as the Program Director of Aesthetics for the prestigious Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics a division of Atlanta School of Massage. Traci Daly began her career in aesthetics in 1994.  In addition to working as an Esthetician Traci has been a practicing Massage Therapist for 12 years.   Traci is Nationally Certified in Massage Therapy and became one of the first Licensed Massage Professionals in the State of Georgia in 2007 when Georgia adopted State Licensure.   Traci also has 6 years of experience as a Spa Manager.  Traci is a member and Nationally Certified by NCEA (National Coalition of Esthetics, Manufacturing & Related Associations’) which is an example of her commitment to the esthetic’s industry’s growth and increased professionalism on a national level.  Traci is dedicated to contributing to the education and professional development of students as well as licensed professionals in the Cosmetology field. 

As Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Education Committee Chair, Traci Daly heads up the committee whose primary function is to find and present continuing education opportunities to our members in the forms of workshops, classes, video tutorials, books, etc....


Ray Louis - Education Committee

Ray Louis is a Licensed Esthetician, Licensed Esthetics Instructor and Licensed Massage Therapist for the State of Georgia.

Ray began his career in esthetics in 2006.  In addition to working as an Esthetician, Ray has been Massage Therapist since 1992. Ray became one of the first Licensed Massage Professionals in the State of Georgia in 2007 when Georgia adopted State Licensure.

He has been a Licensed Esthetics Instructor for the State of Georgia since 2007 and currently teaches for the Atlanta Institute of Aesthetics, a division of Atlanta School of Massage - his Alma Matter.  Ray is dedicated to contributing to the education and professional development of students as well as licensed professionals in the field of Cosmetology.

As a member of Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Education Committee, Ray Louis is an integral part of the team that finds and presents continuing education opportunities to our members in the forms of workshops, classes, video tutorials, books, etc....


Synthe - Education Committee

Synthe, professional airbrush makeup artist, body painter and educator, is not your ordinary artist. She is the Vicenza, Italy born talent capable of creating virtually any look imaginable. She has airbrushed the most celebrated entertainers and body painted the most imaginable works of art. Her extensive experience in the cosmetic profession began while working with the public through leading retail cosmetic companies. She is a self‐accomplished, conceptual airbrush makeup artist, educator and body painter. Though she left retail for corporate America, she continued her career as a free‐lance makeup artist. In June of 2003 before air brushing makeup, Synthe began body painting. It was when she received so many requests from beauty professionals who wanted to learn the innovative technique that she expanded to the instructional side of this art.

As a member of Makeup Artists of Atlanta's Education Committee, Synthe is an integral part of the team that finds and presents continuing education opportunities to our members in the forms of workshops, classes, video tutorials, books, etc....


Andrea Kessel - Education Committee

Andrea’s talent in the field of makeup artistry was first discovered in high school when she worked as a makeup artist for the school Drama Club. This led her to the local playhouse where she attended classes on stage make-up, acting and more. Andrea has been working as a professional Makeup Artist for over 20 years. After attending cosmetology school in 1997 she worked in a spa as a Manicurist and Makeup Artist, specializing in bridal and special occasion makeup.

After moving from her hometown in Ohio to Georgia in 2000, Andrea began working in local spas as a Makeup Artist and Esthetician Apprentice. Through continuing education courses and mentoring studies she has fined tuned her skills in media makeup, including television, photography, editorial and fashion. Andrea has worked with many of Atlanta’s top photographers and talent agencies. She has made up the faces of brides, models, celebrities and more. Andrea believes that every woman is beautiful and she has the tools, knowledge and talent to make that beauty shine.

Thay Charmichael, Education Committee

Thay, a Jamaican native and Georgia resident, is an Aesthetic Specialist with a passion for eyelashes and skin. She uses innovative products and procedures to achieve beauty. Thay has trained as an Aesthetician at the International School of Skin (Atlanta), with formal lash training in New York and Georgia. She holds a license in Aesthetics and several advance certifications in Chemical Peels, Laser Hair Removal and other aesthetic disciplines. Thay loves lashes, family, travel, hair accessories and tiaras. She believes in working diligently, giving to others, and client satisfaction. KayLeannaKayLeanna, Personal Assistant

KayLeanna is Kat Flynt's daughter and has been assisting Kat since age 15 on many makeup assignments as well as setting up, greeting and co-hosting our Makeup Artists Socials. KayLeanna has also served as our in-house model on many occasions for makeup demonstrations. You will find her photos as our model scattered throughout this website as well as Flynt Makeup Academy's site.

KayLeanna started out as a model in the children's division of Atlanta Models & Talent. In middle school she became involved in drama club. Once she outgrew children's division at AMT but was too short to move into their fashion division - she made the transfer over to Houghton Talent as an actress. KayLeanna continued her involvement in Drama Club throughout middle school and now in high school. During her Sophomore year she became the Key Makeup Artist for Dacula High School's Drama Department which she continued through her Junior year which she had to give up when she started into the Cosmetology program at Maxwell High during her Senior year. KayLeanna is now enrolled in the Cosmetology Program at Gwinnett Technical College which she will complete in time to take the state board exam in Spring 2013.
